“Animal Dice” Arts and Crafts Activity from Education.com
My regular readers may recall my previous admission in being a fully-blown, unapologetic Craft Dummy. For this reason, I was pleasantly surprised to be contacted by Education.com to share one of their many terrific preschooler arts and crafts activities.
I readily embraced this downloadable “Animal Dice” activity since it satisfied this Craft Dummy’s 3 requirements:
- It’s easy.
- It’s inexpensive.
- (Most importantly) It’s fun!
Now, our dice did not turn out quite as tidy as these in the photo, but my 4-year-old twins thoroughly enjoyed being able to take part in every part of the craft.
My opinion is that this activity is more fun and versatile with more than one cube. You can easily make some variations to this activity to keep tykes of different ages and knowledge levels engaged, such as:
- Have family members play in teams, rolling a die and acting out the animal for the other team to guess.
- For older kids, instead of putting “critter pictures” on the cubes, you can write single letters. Players can take turns rolling the dice and acting out an animal which begins with that letter for other players to guess.
